Congratulations to Claire and Rob on the arrival of their beautiful little baby daughter Izabella Felicity who made her debut last Friday.

For those of you that know me, know I am never lost for words. But every time I have the privilege in supporting one of my beautiful Mumma’s as they deliver their precious babies into the world…. My breath is taken away and my heart overflows with love and pride at what I have just had the honour of witnessing.

‘Claire, you just brought a human being into the world! The world should be kneeling at your feet.”

When Claire and I discussed that birth can sometimes resemble a marathon, we didn’t have a crystal ball to know how her birth story would evolve. Unbeknown to us at that time, Claire my beautiful kind and loving Mumma was about to sign up for a 24-hour marathon.

In saying that, Claire’s heart was full of love for the baby daughter she had been waiting 9 months to meet. Claire was mentally ‘and may not have realised it ‘but also physically prepared for whatever challenge came her way. Claire had the knowledge to make informed decisions that felt right for her and her baby and a support team that would hold her up when she needed that little bit of assurance, support and comfort her through the long hours and praise her for the progress she was making.

Claire, you were ready to meet your daughter no matter how long it was going to take. Patience is one of the first lessons we learn as parents and that my birthing goddess, you had plenty of. We all experience birth so differently from the intimate spaces of our bodies and minds. Any woman who experiences the vulnerability of carrying a child in her body( and heart )and bringing it earth side is heroic. Every birth is different, and every woman’s experience and telling of her story will be unique.

The power of love is an amazing gift. When you OWN your experience and take pride in your journey, you help other women do the same thing. And that is exactly what you have achieved.

Congratulations again Claire, how lucky is Izabella that life chose you to be her mummy xxxxx

Heidi and Memphis, Claire’s fur baby cats……I hope you embrace and enjoy the newest member of your family
